IMG_3826

Hello everybody, meet again with our school tour diary, it’s about our second part event at MI Negeri 1 Yogyakarta, after the student get the information about the environmental sustainability problems and knowledge about how to sorting the garbage on last week, now we try to encourage student to sorting the garbage and put it into right place using our game called. . .*drum rolling*
”Throw Me To The Right Place!!!” :D.

IMG_3626

This is not exactly Throw Me To The Right Place, @diobong play Cat Mario when waiting the student come to Computer Laboratory. hehe

IMG_3631

@syauqy also come to encourage the student to learn something from this game.

Yeah, we using approach the “magic of game” to make these kids aware with their environment and start to keep their environment with put the garbage in the right place suitable to its specifications.

IMG_3645IMG_3649IMG_3650

as we know,  the citizen and private mandatory must sorting the garbage, and the government must manage the waste.

However, this still can not be realized in most areas. Either because of inadequate disposal sites and communities that still lack awareness. It became one of the common cases that happened today. This is where we wanted to take part in the growing self-awareness from an early age to design a game that targets individuals who will shape society in the future, the young generation.

IMG_3651IMG_3652

By means of using this media, more educational values can be given. Education about the environment in this game will we designated the primary school age children (ages 7-11 years old).

Because according to Jean Piaget, children aged 7-11 years are cognitively concrete operational stage. In this stage, children are able to think logically and know anything based real idea or fact that is illustrated in graphics. Children are able to perform logical reasoning from what they see, to understand the concept of conversation, organizing objects into a certain class hierarchy (classification) and are able to put an object in a particular sequence (serialization).

In this game, children are expected to be able to understand the concept of selecting and disposing of waste in place based on the reality condition. This game contains elements of classification and serialization, where children are expected to be able to dispose of waste that fit with the type and threw it to the right place. Children will be easier to understand the concept of throwing waste in place according with what they see in the game.

IMG_3676

Not only the students, our partner  @widhihapsari from Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Gadjah Mada also interested with this game :P.

IMG_3677IMG_3684IMG_3686IMG_3710

In the process of thinking, at this age children are more likely to understand the concept if they observe directly through the examples given. As the concept of learning modeling revealed by Albert Bandura.

Albert Bandura explains that learning through the abattoir is one of the fundamental changes in the behavior of other people, individuals and indirectly studying changes in these behaviors. The process that occurs with model learning include the attention, retention, reproduction and motivation. This game will attract children attention how waste should be treated, then the child will remember it. Children will return to reproduce what was in his mind to dispose of waste in right place. Until eventually the child will be motivated to properly dispose of waste in accordance with the classification of types of garbage. In this game, hopefully the child will imitate what they do in the game, the pick and dispose of waste in place. The process of learning by using this model will be much more enjoyable and easily understood by children.

After completing this game demo, these kids are pose in front of the camera.

And this game now live on IndieDB. com, stay tune to TMTTRP page in IndieDB for recent updates and this game not yet published, we currently still working on it, just wait and see soon :D.
